CAMP HISTORY An Online Camp Scrapbook
The Colonel Sherod Hunter Camp 1525, Sons of Confederate Veterans, was chartered in March 1990, and in the over fifteen years of our existence, we've seen and done a lot. On the pages of this online Camp Scrapbook are chronicled our history, from the very beginning to the present day. One item is conspicuously missing from these pages...our annual Confederate Memorial Day ceremonies at Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery. That is because our Camp has a separate website, the CONFEDERATE MEMORIAL SITE, which is devoted to our memorial activities and to the memory of our Confederate ancestors, and pictures of all of our ceremonies are posted there. To visit that site, click on the Confederate Cross of Honour below...
Links to pages chronicling the rest of our history appear below. Our Camp fiscal years run from August 1 to July 31, and we elect our officers to serve concurrently with those fiscal years. So for the sake of convenience, the Camp's history will be chronicled in pages (with the exception of the first year, which began in March 1990 and ended in July of the following year) which detail the history of each fiscal period from August 1 to July 31.
